ETA on programming for South Carolina Webforms?

Options

The Convio advocacy product is still targeting the South Carolina legislature via email according to the contactibility index, but they've all switched to webform usage. What is the expected timeline for deploying webform integration (or a temporary fix)?

  • Hello Christopher,

The new www.scstatehouse.gov webforms for the South Carolina state senate and state house pose problems for our current webform delivery tool due to how it uses ajax/javascript on the page, which our current webform delivery tool cannot interpret. Thus, for now, the South Carolina state senate and state house targets will be "untrainable".

However, we have been working on a significantly improved webform delivery tool that will allow us to submit to virtually all of the webforms that we cannot train using our current tool. We hope to release this new tool later this year. From the standpoint of a Convio Admin, you will notice no change. Behind the scenes, though, we will begin submitting many currently untrainable webforms successfully.

Convio will be posting more information about this later in the year.

  • Christopher,

One additional thought... because the South Carolina legislators are listed as untrainable, that means that Convio's advocacy tool cannot fill out their webform automatically. However, end-users who map to South Carolina state legislators will still get a link on the Thank You page of the alert that they can click on and fill out the legislator's webform manually. End-users who click on those links will be counted in Advocacy Delivery Reports and Advocacy Delivery Failure Reports as a successful delivery.

    Cheers,

    Joseph

If, by chance, we were to provide Convio with a list of currently active email addresses for the SC Legislators that has been verified, can we patch the contact data and revert to email?

Despite their claims and their new webforms, SC Legislators are still using email addresses for constituent communication.

If you were to provide Convio with a list of currently active email addresses for the SC Legislators that have been verified, we can get those up on our production servers overnight.

    Cheers,
