Most effective Advocacy page layout

Options

Hi! I've tried to do some digging in the convio community, and some testing of our own advocacy pages - but I'm curious: does anyone know which standard Convio advocacy page layout is most effective to get the highest number of people taking action when visiting a page? Is there a layout, or general features of an advocacy page, that encourage a better conversion rate of advocacy page visitors vs. action takers?

Thanks!

  • I just asked our Convio rep this same question about a week ago. It doesn't sound like Convio has collected any data. It would be great to know if any individual orgs have done testing on this.

  • Hi there,

We tested three of the layouts awhile back - "Description and Targets top, Contact left, Message right," "Description and Targets top, Message left, Contact right," and "Description and Contact top, Message left, Targets right." This was before the fourth layout option was available.

We found no difference. It was in fact astounding how similar the results are.

As a result of the test, we always use Description and Targets top, Contact left, Message right.

Personally, I had a lot of hope for the newest layout option because I thought it would mimic the GetActive pages more closely, but unfortunately I don't like how it looks - the letter is way too far down and there's a very large gap between the top of the page and the letter. This might not be a problem if you write long introductions, but we keep ours short.

This year we plan to test different "submit" buttons to see if we can lift response that way.

    Good luck!

Thank you! This is wonderful to hear. I'm with you on the fourth layout/newest layout in Convio - we keep our advocacy page descriptions short as well.

Keep us posted on what you find out about the different "submit" buttons if you can. Thanks!
