Inserting "Print (Advocacy) Letter" Component

Options

I've always been very impressed with the component for letting constituents print their action alert letter (pictured below). However, the best action alerts (in my mind, at least) are simple and require as few clicks as possible, but this feature requires its own page. Is there a tag or code that we can use to embed this feature into another page?

Alternatively (or in addition), it would be most useful to be able to generate the link for the letter automatically. Just looking at an example URL (https://secure3.convio.net/niac/site/Advocacy/Hillary+Rodham+Clinton.doc?cmd=download&page=UserPrint&id=171&pagename=null&printtype=doc&printrepid=32550), it seems pretty modular, and I wonder if it couldn't be automatically created with a few S-tags.

Has anyone done this successfully or figured out how to do this? Thanks!

  • On a similar note, how can we embed the advocacy tell-a-friend tool into a page? The default option is decent, but leaves the user with no control over where the taf tool is inserted in the page. It defaults to the bottom of the page and there is no way to change this.
