Engagement Factors One vs Many

Options
Hello Everybody!

I'm getting ready to set up engagement factors for my organization. I'm wondering what makes more sense. Please weigh in if you feel so inclined.

Does it make more sense to set every interaction at one point (one interaction per engagement factor slot) and then query together as needed? Or, does it make more sense to weight the various factors differently (email received = 1 ... opened = 2 ... clicked = 3, etc.) and combine them on an engagement factor slot?

Please help! :)

  • Hi Katie -

We have the following Engagement Factors set up in Luminate Online currently. We then run queries and have created groups using these factors to use as suppression or inclusion groups into our communications.

Email - Clickthrough Engagement - Email - Clickthrough (Engagement Factor 8). Has opened and clicked through an email within the last 180 days

Email Opened - 180 days - Email Opened - 180 days. Uses engagement factor 5

Email Opened - 365 days - Constituent has opened an email in one of the last 365 days. Uses Engagement Factor 6

Email Opened - 60 days - Email opened within the last 60 days. Uses engagement Factor 4

Email Received - Opened Engagement - Email Received Engagement. If the email is opened, the constituent received 1 interaction point per email. Uses engagement factor 1

Website Engagement Task - Website engagement task based on Login, Donations and Survey Submission. Uses engagement factor 2
