Securing e-receipts

Options
Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to make sure that the e-receipts from Raiser's Edge are actually secured? I've run a test, and the PDF that it emails out, is easy to edit with Adobe. Just wondering if anyone has any solutions they can share or if you found another way to email these receipts out as secure PDF's.

Thank you! :)

    Hi Lorena,

Are you asking in terms of being sure you are in line with CRA's requirement about secured digital receipts? Because if that's the case, PDF is ok with them, or it was a year or so ago when I called in with this exact question. If you have the right software almost any file can be edited  but CRA's take on it with me was that we had made every effort to send a secure file so we were ok.

Feel free to shoot me a message for clarification - this is something I've spent WAAYYYYYY too much time on over the last few years.

    Cheers

  • Thanks so much for your response Aldera! It's good to know I’m not the only one who has spent to much time trying to make them more secure.  I’ve seen other Charities send out password protected receipts but are using another service and the one's that are issued for our receipts online are also password protected, so I was hoping to find a way to do that. However, it does not seem there is a way unfortunately.

Personally, I hate the password protected ones, as invariably by the time I get around to reviewing my receipts, I have no idea how to get into them. But, that's just me and my poor self-organization skills. :)
