Benefits for the Events Module

Can someone help explain how benefits are used in the events module? Once setup, does it automatically carve out the benefit value for the registration fee when linked to a gift in the registration tab for a participant? What about the donation tab in the event for the participant if they make a general donation for the event?

  • Benefits do show up on the registration field in the events module and the gift record.  However I find that sometimes the benefit on the gift record does not apply to the gift record correctly.  Before I run year end statements I have to check to make sure the benefits are correctly applied on the gift records.  In regards to donations in the event module, they do apply to the gift correctly as long as they are correctly formatted on the fees in the events.
