Post-Merge Procedures

Options
Our organization is in the process of consolidating five separate Raiser's Edge databases into one.  Does anyone have recommendations for what steps need to be/should be taken once the merge is finalized?  I know we will need to configure security groups and user roles and we will also need to work through the Mass Merge process for duplicate records. What are some best practices to ensure a smooth transition?  Thank you!

    Interesting undertaking! Sounds like you've thought through the process. Merging will be fun!


    I worked with essentially records for three orgs in one db. We had constituent code that could be used to separate out records relevant to each. Some records were relevant only to one org while others were relevant to all 3. Those codes also could have been used for security groups and configuring access. Need for something like that just depends on your need or lack of need to limit access to records.  Just a thought.

  • Sounds like great fun to me!   I would look at what is needed the most to continue solicitations, Actions, and whatever is used the most.  Are Add/Sals an issue can you get what you want for a solicitation?  Are your Action Types and Status the same or what should be used?  Just things like that so others can continue their work too.   So much you can do...…….
