RE/RE NXT Events and credits because of Covid cancellations

Has anyone come up with a way to handle credits in RE because of event cancellations (by us, owing to Covid safety precautions)? This is further complicated by the fact that the gifts don't exist in RE for me, as we have only just adopted RE, and events were handled outside our old database. We want people to be able to book for new events using OLX, and use credits (currently in a spreadsheet) to pay for them. Any ideas? I can obviously use the Bill me later button in OLX, but how do I record the credit in the first place? As a Gift with a particular tag?
