Scholarship Recipient

How is everyone handling their scholarship thank you event where the students write their thank you letters to the donors?  I am thinking ahead for group photos and check in while social distancing for 300+ people.

  • We had our students record videos of themselves reading their Thank You letters to the donors. Then, our staff watched all of the videos to make sure they were all appropriate, names were pronounced correctly, etc. We also sent the thank you letters to the donors as well. It was very well perceived and our donors loved it, especially those who are usually unable to attend our scholarship reception events around Homecoming. It was very time consuming, but worth it in the end for the donor touches.

As far as the physical letters were concerned, they were either emailed to our stewardship coordinator or mailed via our campus mail so there was no postage charge for the students. Then, all letters were printed off and mailed with our endowment reports to the donors. These letters were also all read and edited and returned for correction if necessary.
