Screen for Date of Birth

Options
Has anyone used a product other than Blackbaud's AgeFinder to run constituents through a screen to get date of birth info?  If so, what was the product and were you happy with the results?  Also happy to hear about experiences (either positive or negative) related to AgeFinder.

Thanks!

  • In ResearchPoint, after a WealthPoint screening is performed the information, if available, on the Biographical tab.
  • Good point, thank you Krys!  We are hoping to run this for large groups of records and last time I checked the ability to sync between ResearchPoint and RE was broken.  Blackbaud support told me it was a known issue they were trying to resolve.  But this is a good option for individuals we want to check on one by one.  Thanks again!
  • I sync between RP and RE every day, but the information is having to do with the ratings and they are placed on the Prospect tab in RE.  Maybe worth checking with Blackbaud again?  Fingers crossed for you!  =)

I used TouchPoints for an age and gender append for a client and would highly recommend them.  They are very invested in the quality of their data, readily offered typical match rates, and were very proactive in explaining all the minutia behind date of birth date vs. age data.  The do a lot of cross referencing and validating of their data to ensure high levels of quality.  In general, the matches seemed very sound.  The age data was run on some constituents who already had a birth date in RE, and there were occasional 3 - 5 year discrepancies on those, but I don't know where the organization obtained its data.  They had a summer intern work on that project, so I don't know the results of it.

The age and gender data for 9000 constituents (if I remember correctly) was less expensive than using Blackbaud.  The process was very easy too - I put a CSV file in a secure Dropbox folder and results were placed there for me to download.  It was a quick and easy import back to RE - I added everything as an attribute so that we didn't overwrite existing data.  They offer a ton of other data services too.

Matt LoPresti is the person I spoke with.  If you contact him, please let him know that Karen from W4Sight passed his information along.

    Good luck!
