Delivery Rates + Bounce Rates: October to November 2019

We saw a particularly high bounce rate in for the month of October for our email marketing (2.7%), and wanted to see if anyone all had heard of anything from others about that kind of anomaly.  


The rates for August, September and November so far, are more normal (around 1.3% for each), so a little strange that it's this one month.  If you have any insights, we would much appreciate it!  


Blackbaud informed us of a new 5 tier "grading" system, but it lack clarification. Does anyone have any additional information about this?

    I'd suggest running the Administrator Bounce Detail report and look at the reason codes to get a better understanding why your emails are bouncing. You might also want to check your bounces by domain to see if there is one particular email service provider that you are having trouble delivering to.


    The new grading system mimics much more closely the rules the major email service providers are using. The old system focused on when supporters marked a "this is spam" button. With the changes by email service providers to monitor engagement, spam traps, domain typos and other hygiene related metrics we needed to update our systems accordingly.
