Proposal Date Funded - not showing up in Query results or in NXT Opportunities

Options
I've been noticing that although the proposal shows a date funded, that date is not populating in query results and doesn't populate in NXT Opportunities view.

The only way to correct this is to view gifts (which shows a gift date) and choose Recalculate.  After recalculating the date populates in both query results and NXT.

My question - Why?

Next question - is there a way to globally recalculate linked gifts to more efficiently correct this issue?

  • Because there's no such thing as a Proposal Query the results in Constituent Query output can be sketchy.

Remember, Query is a grouping tool, not a reporting tool.  Try Export and see if you get the results you expect.
  • Is this similar to what you are experiencing?

Looks like a "known" bug and they are investigating the issue.

  • That is not quite what we are experiencing but close.  When you open the proposal the linked gift does show a funded date.  It just doesn't show in the query or in NXT.

I realize that query is not ideal for exporting data, but in the case of proposals and ratings it is absolutely necessary.  You cannot export a specific rating and if I wanted to see only 2019 proposals/opportunities I'd have to export 50+ proposals per constituent and then try to filter across 50+ columns for those from 2019- because there is no such thing as a proposal query.

We do use Crystal Reports for pulling proposal reports.
  • Right so that is exactly what you are seeing. (i.e. from the bb article).... In database view you can "see" a gift funded date, but in NXT it's not there. This is because it's actually really *not there*. The DB view tricks you into thinking there is data for date_funded but it's just passing along the date the gift was linked. In order to get a date to show up in NXT you have to either put one in, or borrow the DB-view's one by opening and re-saving the Proposal (there may be other ways to do this also- but you basically have to "touch" the record in some way.)

    Hope that helps.
