I need help creating a report that in a letter to the family states a constituent gave a gift in their loved ones memory.  I want it to pull one Appeal only.  Thank you so much for your help!

Which specific Tribute report are you wanting to run?  Two of the four canned reports let you filter on Appeal on the Filters tab.  All four of them let you filter on Tribute Type.

So that one is working now, but I have another question you might know the answer to.  I'm running the Honor/Memorial Contributors List under Tribute Reports.  I have taken out one of our Appeals but that Appeal still pulls into my Tribute report to families even though I removed it.  What do you think could be going on?

How did you remove that one Appeal? The standard/canned Tribute reports filters only allow "Include All" or "Include Selected," but not "Exclude Selected."

In which case you're including ALL Appeals in the report, so any Appeal associated with a Tribute will show in the report. You're getting exactly what  you've told the system to give you.

I'm not able to reproduce this. I have one constituent, John Doe, that has received In Honor Of gifts this fiscal year from two separate appeals, appeal X and appeal Y. If I run the report and under the Appeals filter I select Include Selected and add all of my active appeals and move all of them over to the right under Include these Appeals, then double-click the two appeals used in the IHO gifts and move them back to the left so they are no longer included in the report, John Doe no longer appears in the report. That filter seems to be working for me.


Perhaps the constituent in question that received the IHO gifts did so with more than just the appeal you've excluded. That would cause their name to display in the report yet it's not immediately obvious as to why. The problem with that report is it does not tell you the date of the gift, the appeal of the gift, or much of anything else.
