Tag constituents with appeal code through list import?

Hello, 


I am trying to figure out how to add an appeal to a specific group of constituents in Raiser's Edge, who were sent a campaign mailing. 

Is there a way to mark the appeal on constituents' records by importing a list into RE?

Hi Gaya Gustafson‍  - You can add an appeal to a group of constituents in RE two different ways:  

1. You can add the appeal information through Import - see KB Article #41501 for more information. 
2. You can run a Global Add within RE with a query of constituents to add the appeal - see KB Article #37417 for more info.  

I use the second option most frequently, as it is much easier to prepare for and execute than an Import.  However, if you are adding the appeal and where you plan to record multiple segment descriptions/codes in the packages field I would recommend using Import as it gives you more flexibility in this area.

In order to "add" an Appeal record to the correct constituent, you would need a Constituent ID or a constituent's Import ID.  If you have a specific query generating that particular list, you could use that query in the Global Add.  Otherwise, you could use Import to do that...
