Export ALL Constituents

Options
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why I cannot get all of my constituents to pull over in a csv file.  Each time I export I get a different number of total constituents pulled.  When I have a co-worker do the same export, she gets a different number as well.  I've included a pic of the General tab of my export. The last time that I ran it, almost 6,000 were left off (I have just over 21,000 records, total).

Maybe the issue is in the output?  Is there something the missing constituents have in common?
  • Dariel~

I am certainly asking for a lot of info on my export (it was requested by a company we contract with).  The 6,000 records that did not process have nothing in common.  Some are old, some are brand new, some have giving records, some have never given.  I'm quite exasperated!
  • Jennifer, 21K records is pretty small - I am surprised they do not all export.  Would you mind sharing what you are trying to output?  Thanks
  • I have had the same thing happen in the past.  I had a 80k pull and I would time out the application.  It would then print out the lines it had completed while leaving the other lines empty, thus not giving me my total that I needed.  Are you trying to run this over night or is someone sitting and watching the export?
  • Dennis & Jeremy~

I have run it during the day and overnight. It takes well over 30 minutes and times out most times (but not all of the time).

30 minutes is well within the timeout period.  You shouldn't have an issue with timeouts.  Even so, you can call support and ask for an extended timeout period.

I'd consider a much smaller export of the first 10 items just to make sure that the import is pulling everything correctly.  The first set of lines are universal (ie. ConsID, ImportID, etc.)  That way, you can eliminate some factors.  That import shouldn't take long at all.
  • Jennifer, you are asking for quite a lot of complex data which is the reason it is taking so long - I would suggest you break this up in segments (ex, do A-L, M-Z based on last name) then combine the CSV's afterwards.  This should make each report take less time but may also help you pin-point if there is a specific data integrity issue somewhere.

    Thanks, Dennis
