Printing Problems With Chinese Characters

In RE NXT has anyone else suddenly run into trouble when printing from mail>receipts, Word docs that contain both English characters and Chinese characters (or any other language that doesn't use English characters)?  We are using the same receipt parameter files that we have been using successfully up until end of day Sept 3.  The print preview looks correct but when it is printed, the Chinese characters appear as a string of boxes.  It doesn't seem to be a printer problem as we can print other word documents with Chinese characters, and even save the RE receipt word document as a PDF and print them that way but don't understand why it suddenly stopped working to print receipts from the print preview in RE.  I understand there was just an RE patch released and it has been applied to our database - coincidence???
