Hi all! I know there are a handful of orgs using Galaxy Gateway and Raiser's Edge out there. Would anyone care to share what they track in RE vs. what they track in Galaxy?


I work at a zoo that uses Galaxy to sell memberships, and up until this year had manually entered membership data in RE via gift batches. We have been working to implement Importomatic this year but it has had a few false starts. Right now, I am trying to decide what is the most effective and efficient way to utilize both systems. If we don't use RE for membership scanning and the Development team has access to Galaxy, should we just track transaction/gift info in RE and leave the rest to Galaxy? Should we track the membership ID, expiration date, etc. in RE too?


I know so much is dependent on how we use the data, but I'd love to hear what you all do. What do you track? Do you use Importomatic or something else? 


We currently enter the transaction/gift data and using the Membership Module track the ID#, expiration date, and link it to the gift. We also track any relationship and contact info that we gather. When we had family passes, we would track who was on each pass in the module as well.
