RELO and Omatic LO Connector

Options
Hello,

We recently purchased the Omatic LO Connector and began using this after frustrations with RELO for over two years. We have not turned off RELO due to the fact that we have so many duplicates in our system and are trying to clean these up first. However, we are apprehensive about turning off RELO as it will make data cleanup on the Luminate Online side very manual. I know we have been told by both Blackbaud and Omatic to turn off RELO if using the LO Connector, however is there anyone that uses both RELO (to process constituent updates) and also the Omatic LO Connector (to process gifts)? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

  • We thought about keeping RELO on for constituent updates and processing all gifts/etc via Omatic - also, did a lot of testing to confirm. In the end, we opted to turn-off RELO and do everything via Omatic. RE Merging/etc is independent of RELO (i.e. the constituent is still removed in LO) hence there is no impact from that perspective with turning off RELO. We have found no real issues with data clean-up with RELO turned off.

    Thanks, Dennis
  • Thanks for the info Dennis. I’m curious, how do you manage your data cleanup in LO? Is it double duty with having to do cleanup in RE and then again in LO? Since we haven’t turned off integration, we don’t now what the merge tool in Luminate online will look like. Are merging records simple? Also like you stated, merging in RE simply “removes” the duplicate in LO. It does not merge the record, more importantly the transactions and interactions stay with the removed record. When merging in LO with the RELO plugin off, does this now allow the entire LO record to be properly merged?

    Thanks again,

    Monica
