I would like to know any tips on taking the RE Fundamentals classes and certification exam.

Did you spread the classes throughout the year or take one a week or month? How soon after completion did you take

the exam? Thank you for your input.

    Hi Marilyn,

    It depends on what you're comfortable with. For me, multiple classes in one week can feel like too much (even though I've been using RE for years). So, I end up taking classes when I can fit them into my schedule - usually spread out over a few months.

    Our newest development coordinator seemed to take a class or two a week and I think she took the exam right away, and earned certification within her first six months. That worked well for her, because she was done before event season took over her work days.

    dual monitors!  That's all I can say.  If you can acquire such a setup, it will be beneficial.

    Marilyn Bellemore‍ - the classes are 3 hours long so like others said taking more than a couple a week I would think would be very exhausting


    Setting a goal of one a week, depending on your schedule, would probably be fine and then I would take the exam right away.


    I had used RE enough that I took the Fundamental Exam without classes but for the Pro Exam, we had a training subscription and I started doing classes at the end of September and took 11 classes by the end of November, taking the individual exams up to Pro as I went. Knowing I'd forget the stuff  :)


    I wish I had time to take training now as I was VERY impressed with the classes


    We have our subscription thru Sept 2020 so hopefully my life will slow down again sometime....  :)
