First time Poster - I want to learn Raiser's Edge but I am not affiliated with an organization, Help!

I was wondering if there was any way to learn Raiser's Edge without being affiliated with an organization? I want to learn how to use this software so I can apply for work requiring knowledge on it.

I did searches on nonprofits in my area that used Raiser's Edge, usually through job postings that required it, then asked if I could volunteer. A volunteer coordinator at a YMCA in my area was happy to train me to do free data entry, and I did about 20+ hours volunteer work there. Then I contacted a temp agency for nonprofits who were able to place me to do more data entry at another organization, where I learned even more. Once I had that experience, I started applying for jobs, and was able to find a full time position in very little time. Once inside an organization, I was able to take many Blackbaud online classes, and learned a lot very quickly. You can learn a few things from watching Blackbaud YouTube videos, but you can't beat hands-on experience.

How is it that you have a community account?  I thought you had to be affiliated with an organization in order to access anything internally on the website, but perhaps I have missed something!

Anyone can be a member of the community. It has been that way for a while.

I never knew that - thanks!  But I've also been a BB customer since way before the community boards started, so I just made an assumption that you needed to be affiliated with a current client.  #TheMoreYouKnow!
