Text to Pay Option, Please!

Dear Software Engineers, 


I would really love a text to pay option for constituents so people can donate or register for an event from their smart phone. We used to have this here at YWCA La Crosse but we moved over to LO and that's the one feature we don't have. 


Please consider this for a future update!

Mackenzie - Are you looking for a text-to-give features (that lets you send a text to a # to give a fixed amount) or more very mobile-friendly donation forms that might accept payments by fingerprint (like ApplePay)? We have some options, others are provided by partners.

I also want to enable the thermometer on LO too, but don't know how
to do that.

We use a service called MobileCause ( https://www.mobilecause.com/ ).

There are some great tools, that display giving in real-time. We are using this at our next benefit event which is this weekend. We display our goal and as people give, they can see lives updates of the progress toward the goal.


I'm sure there are many similar services, but this is the one I know about, because it's what we use. ( the downside is that none of the ones I have looked are a free, but that's where the phrase, "you have to spend money to make money" comes from )

ah, yes, we have used Mobile cause for a while, and
it's way too expensive, we also want to stay with one system.

Blackbaud Checkout is one fix for quick mobile payments - you can learn more here. It enables a simpler mobile donation form and lets people pay with digital wallets like ApplePay (pay with a fingerprint). It may or may not be something you have time to set up if your event is on Wednesday, unless you already use Blackbaud Merchant Services (BBMS) and have ApplePay activated in your account.

Hi, Mackenzie - You can use Checkout with or without Apple Pay. Here are the help docs that have instructions for setup.


We're putting together a toolkit to simplify this process; it will be out in May - too late for Wednesday's event unfortunately.
