Insight Designer/Dashboards - How often is data updated?

I'm under the impression that Dashboard (Fundraising-Reporting reports?  Analysis reports?  naming consistency is not Blackbaud's forte... ahem)  reports in NXT are updated every "few" hours.  Sometimes the reports say "As of 2 hours" ago or 4 hours ago... Totally fine.  


But I'm finding cases where the Insights are not updating as often as the "data'"..... Yes, this is weird, but I'll try to explain.


I have a solicitor with 7 proposals in RE.  Two days ago (March 26) he had 8 proposals.  I deleted 1 proposal.  Not inactive, not change status.  Totally deleted.


Yet two days later (March 28) all the Insights in my Dashboard says he still has 8.  When I click on the 8 of the Measurement Insight it gives me a list of... 7 proposals.


So I get fancy and create a Table insight that lists all Opportunities for this solicitor.  It ALSO lists out 8 Opportunities, including the one opportunity I deleted two days ago.  I click on that Opportunity name and I get this where I would normally see a record:

So it looks like Insights are either pulling from an old data warehouse or just aren't grabbing fresh data.  It's now been about 49 hours since I deleted that Proposal from database view, but NXT is still counting it.  How long should I have to wait for my dashboards to catch up?

  • I have found where actions have not updated in an insight and cannot find a reason it hasn't (ie... completed, assigned solicitor properly, etc..).  I may have missed something but I am very interested in a response from Blackbaud, or experiences from other users.

    I need to change the issue I typed above.  I found the action point (cultivation action type that month) behind the dots of other action types.   The line chart doesn't want to connect 0, or NULL, points and so the line can be broken making it impossible to see a beginning point of a subsequent time period if there are other points with the same value.

     

  • I'm experiencing a similar issue with the proposal/opportunities reporting in NXT. On the Fundraising > Reporting > Opportunities page, when I filter by Opportunity Status to show only those in "Submitted" status, the Opportunity Overview shows 82 opportunities. However, when I create a list by clicking on the Opportunity Overview number, the list shows me that some of those 82 opportunities are actually in "Funded" or "Denied" status. 


    In checking when the status was changed from Submitted to Funded/Denied, I found that they were changed long ago (a year or more), so it doesn't seem to be that the data just hasn't refreshed yet. I am able to filter out again on the Lists to find the actual number of "Submitted" statuses, but it would be ideal if the insights dashboard displayed the statuses correctly.
  • I initially reached out to Steve Stegelin‍ about some of the dashboard reports not updating as expected.  At the time I think there was a known issue with Opportunities that seemed to have been resolved a few days later.  


    That being said.... Hmm... Yeah, I just found a very similar problem again.  ?


    I have an Opportunity that had the status changed on 6/12/19... but here on 6/18/19 it's still being counted in my Headline Insight as having the the old status.  When I click on the Insight I get the reported number of Opportunities... but one of those Opportunities has the wrong status.

    Thank you for bringing up the issue you were having with Opportunity Status being incorrect. We've been looking into this issue and have identified what we believe is the root cause. We are working on getting a fix released as soon as possible to correct this issue. I'll post back here once we have the fix applied.

    I have reached out to our product developer resources and they were not aware of anything system wide,  Has anyone created a support ticket to rule out an individual technical issue?

    We have released the fix related to how the Opportunity Status was being set that I mentioned on June 27. Hopefully this resolves any issues you were having with the Opportunity Status being incorrect. If you do still run into any issues with this field, I would encourage you to reach out to support so that we can get all the details necessary to investigate and resolve your issue as rapidly as possible.
