Send Mail to this Address and No Valid Addresses

Options
Hello,

Our organization has not been very consistent in utilizing the No Valid Addresses checkbox.  We have records flagged with No Valid Addresses, but with addresses that can be mailed.  We also have records where all addresses are flagged as Send Mail to this Address - No, but the No Valid Addresses is not check.  The first case is easy enough, but does anyone have any ideas on how to query for constituents who have no addresses flagged as Send Mail to this address- Yes?  I'm sure I can finangle a way to do that in Excel, but I'd prefer to have a dynamic query to check for these records.

Thanks,

Matt

  • Matt,

You could query under all addresses and there is a selection of "send mail to this address".  You can then choose no. I have done a similar query but specifically for the primary address to see who is not marked as sending mail to this address.  Do you think that would solve your problem?

  • I don't think that would solve it; that query would include all constituents who have at least one address marked as no, rather than constituents where all their addresses are marked as no. It would therefore include people who have a current address marked as yes if they also had a previous address marked as no, which you wouldn't want as they don't need to be set to "no valid address".
  • Matt,

Have you tried running the query Melanie posted and then run a query with all addresses  send mail = Yes... merge the two to remove an ID's which have a valid address?

  • Brilliant!  That should accomplish exactly what I need.  It unfortunately means I'd need to merge both queries whenever I want to check if there are any new records that should receive the flag, but that is much easier than doing everything in Excel.

    Thanks everyone,

    Matt
  • Great solution Larry!  Glad to help out and good luck!
  • I was recently apprised of a feature new to me. In Queries, Under Tools>Query Options> Advanced Processing> Record Processing there is the possibility to pull on a query as one of the criteria of the Query. The query in the shot below is in the background This seems to have possibilities. It should probably be titled Send Mail No.
