Luminate - Gift Service Center (Donor Portal)...looking for existing non-profits that utilizes this

Hello! We are currently setting up our systems to start using Luminate Online in April of this year and we would really like to walk through a donor experience in an existing donor portal. Does anyone know of any non-profits that use the donor portal that we can make an online gift through? Thanks!

  • Hi Sarah,

    We use the Service Center for prompting recurring gift donors to update credit card information (when a CC declines for a recurring gift)


    The way we have used it, is when a CC declines we reset their password and send the donor a link to the portal with their user name and password


    I'm not sure if this has been fixed but the service center can only be accessed via a laptop/desktop - not a mobile phone or tablet - so their are limitations there


    Are you thinking of using it as a 'create a profile' so when people come to your site they can login and all their data is prepopulated when they give a gift?!

  • If you are using the stock center, apparently there is a newer version that you may need to be activated by support. I have no idea how different it is from the older version. (I assume if you are a new LO client you will already have that active.)

    PS - I built a custom Service Center using the APIs. Our API version is a lot more mobile friendly and adds a few extras, like showing on-time and ecom transactions, providing PDF receipts, etc. Happy to share my code if anyone with resources and interest wants to use it. Note: You can't update recurring Paypal donations in the GSC.

  • Thank you for your responses! We are planning on using it as a "Donor Portal" for our donors to use to log in, update their personal info (including payment info) and submit gifts online. We would like to display their giving history and provide year end statements as well. This has all been helpful information. I was not aware of the lack of functionality on the mobile devices.

  • You're welcome to, but give the stock Service Center a peek and make sure it won't do the job. It can do a lot of that already.


    Year-end statements would be a neat addition. Currently, you can get a PDF receipt for any individual payment in mine. I don't think you could get any PDFs in the old one. Not sure about the new/current stock SC. I should take a look at that again.
