Mail Merge does not work properly

Trying to print 16 tax receipts since yesterday, unfortunately i was able to print only 10. Balance was not coming, so I ran the merge again and i was prompt, "No data found for the criteria" Called blackbaud support many times, they don't have a clue why it is happening ? has anyone experienced such a thing ?

    I would check to see if the ones that did not print are marked as Acknowledged.
  • I did check, they are all marked not Acknowledged & Not Receipted. This has never happened before.

    What are you using to select what records to receipt? Check your date range - are you pulling gift date or GL post date, they could be different. Are you using Mail? Do you have any filter set for fund/appeal/constituent code?  Gift types? Are they actually hard credit gifts or are they soft credit?


    Just carefully go through each tab and look at the settings. Something is filtering them out.
  • Date range is correct. No filter is set. gift types are all Hard credit gifts. using a simple mail merge thru MS word.

    I have checked all the tabs and nothing is Suspicious. Blackbaud connected thru webex, spend more than 30 minutes each time, but could not find anything wrong.

    I am running the RE mail merge from a Query of selected records. The Query works fine, each time, but the Mail merge does not.

    You said the records are not marked as receipted/acknowledged so I don't think this is it but shot in the dark...


    Are the ones you don't have receipts for marked for consolidated receipts? I had letters missing because of that (doesn't play well when it's a conditional merge) but the gifts did get marked as receipted but no letter that I could access. If you're doing as an acknowledgement definitely should not affect but strange things are known to happen in RE sometimes. LOL

  • yeah. Many receipts for the week and impossible to explain the delay. I thought of exporting the data to Excel and to create a simple mail merge outside RE and run it. This may solve the problem for the moment. Update the receipt numbers in RE.

  • Dear All, Jon Reading from Blackbaud called with the solution ! If the Constituent address is marked do not send, then mail merge do not pickup the gifts to print.

    Yes, that would do it. Surprised BB didn't catch that right off. Glad they did now.
