Primary Contact from Organization in Mail Export

Hello All,

I would like to know if anyone has issues exporting the Primary Contact for an organization in the Mail Export for acknowledgement letters?  We are exporting a CSV file in the Mail process, then using Word to do the mail merge.  For some reason, I cannot get the Primary Contact, or any contact for that matter, for an organization in the export file.  For addressee and salutation, I only get the organization name.  I am working with Support on this issue, but so far we have not been able to get the contact information in the export file.  We have done a very thorough test by selecting 'Options' and specifying 'Primary', etc., but no luck.  Has anyone else experienced this?

    Have not had the problem. I export to Excel the contacts, addressee, salutation. Only time I've ended up with a blank field is when the add/sal were not entered for the relationship.
  • I had some spotty issues like this once. I found that if I recreated the relationship, I was able to get the correct addressee/salutation out. I had always assumed this was a problem related to our conversion from a different database back in 2012, but I'm not certain this is true.


    However, just to be clear, you're attempting to pull this information from an Export, right? And you're using Relationships > Contacts > Addressee/Salutation to pull the information? 
  • If you are using the Mail - Donor Acknowledgement Letters function, on the "7: Org Address" tab are you selecting:

    Step 1: Mail to contacts?

    Step 2: Contact information - Include Selected Contact Types Only - Select Primary?
