Conditional Images in Word Merge Wizard

Options
Checking to see if anyone has had any luck in using conditional images in the word merge wizard and if so how?

Scenario is such:

We have multiple funds.  And within those funds, based upon a gift amount, the letters are either hand signed by a volunteer or the CDO signature is embedded automatically.

I know we can do conditional merge on fund  OR we can do a conditional merge on gift amount . . . what I would like to do is have the primary conditional merge be on FUND and then within the word document itself, have a conditional that embeds the signature or leaves it blank.  Any brilliant minds out there willing to share?

Thanks!

  • I did this a long time ago and I think I remember that I had to put the signature image inside a text box.  I can test it a bit later and get back to you with the details.

    Thank you!

  • I just tested it and was able to use a IF THEN statement and just insert the image between the quotes for the true result, like this:
    4e420adcec8b8ea3e9553fa169cf3681-huge-if

I'm now thinking that I had to use a text box to keep the signature in the correct place on the page.  Or maybe you don't need a text box at all.

I tested this in Word 2013 outside of RE.  Not sure if it will work the same way when set up as a Mail Merge in RE.
