How do I hide Survey results from the people who take the Survey?

Options

Sometimes a Survey might ask personal questions, and takers should not be able to view the results.

Survey can be used in two basic ways - to create an interactive experience for the users of the site, or to collect sensitive information about the users. One of the primary differences between these strategies is that in the first case, users will want to view the responses that other people have made (this reinforces the interactive feel), and in the second case, its not appropriate to display the answers.

When creating or editing a survey, the administrator can set Security Categories for two parts of the survey:

The display of the entire survey. On the main survey edit page, this is simply called "Security Category", and works as expected - on the entire survey, including the report.

Only the reporting. This means you can ask sensitive questions and reassure your clients that the information is private. On the main survey edit page, this is labeled as the "Reporting Category". Like above, it is also a Security Category. The category chosen for "Reporting Category", must be at least as restrictive as the category mentioned above (1), to have any effect. You will probably want to choose "Administrators Only".

  • This doesn't work for me. I have a secure group set up to view/take a survey, yet I have the results at "Admin" level. Results are still available to anyone signed in. Very frustrating this hierarchy doesn't work.
