Stop phone numbers being required

Hello, my company posts into the system via API. I am using it for the first time personally. I set up custom targets and some records are getting through successfully. However, records deemed to have 'invalid' phone numbers are being rejected. I don't actually want to send any phone numbers through at all though - it's an email only advocacy campaign to corporate targets.


Can you tell me how to remove the requirement for phone numbers - and ensure they're not sent through to the targets?


I already deselected the checkbox for phone numbers in the required and the optional fields.
