Pledge Write-offs in Batch in BBCRM?

We run an annual operational exercise where we write-off nonperforming pledges in BBCRM    Traditionally, we drown our operations folks and write off pledges manually. This year, I would like to deploy a bulk process through batch.  Has anyone tackled this issue?   We have a framework that I think will work, but would love some validation to our approach before we invest more time and effort.
