Reporting on Fiscally Sponsored Income vs Income to your Non-Profit

Options
I am a current eTapestry user looking at switching our company to RENXT. One of the hangups we currently have with eTapestry is in the reporting arena. I'm looking to RENXT users to weigh in with their experience IF your organization fiscally sponsors other projects/non-profits and raises funds for your non-profit's mission as well. We fiscally sponsor 12 other organizations (at close to $1M) and raise close to $4M for our mission and programs. Some foundations give to both us and the non-profits we fiscally sponsor.

So my question is this: Within RENXT, is there a way to report on donor giving totals in such a way that fiscally sponsored grants (or grants to specific funds/projects) are excluded from their giving total. As an example. Let's say Foundation ABC gave:
  • in 2016  $500K to fiscally sponsored org and $450K to our org, = $950K
  • in 2017 $550K to fiscally sponsored org. and $400K to our org, = $950K
  • in 2018 $350K to fiscally sponsored org. and $600K to our org, = $950K
all three years their giving totals is the same, but their giving to our organization changed drastically to our org. from 2017 - 2018. I want to be able to easily report on that. So RE users are you able to report on donor totals but exclude income to a certain project/fund when looking at cumulative giving? Thanks for your help.

With Joy!

  • If you can differentiate using the campaign or approach (appeal in RE and RE NXT) or the fund field(s), then heck yeah, there's oodles of ways to gather that data and group it.  Another way might be a gift attribute, which would work best if you're entering each piece separately as a unique gift.
