Is there a max number of email addresses you can have on one record?

Options
Hi Everyone,

We use OLX for our eBlasts.  In some instances, we want to email people who do not have a record in RE.  In the past, in an effort to avoid creating records with only a name and email address, we created one record and stored multiple email addresses so we could include the folks who wanted to receive the email but did not have a record in RE.  This worked like a charm but we've only ever had 10-15 email addresses on the one record.  We are adding a pop-up to our website that will allow visitors to subscribe to our emails should they wish to do so.  Though we can use an email marketing tool external to RE, we'd prefer to keep everything in RE and send via OLX.  Has anyone else ever tried what we've done in the past, but with more than 10-15 email addresses?  I'm concerned that there may be a maximum number of emails we can add to one record.  I searched the knowledgebase and had a conversation on chat support, but came up empty.  The chat rep said that she's not aware of a maximum number of email addresses you can have on one record since most people may only have 3-5 different email addresses.  Has anyone been successful with the approach I've outlined above, and if so, how many email addresses did you have on the one record?

Thanks!

  • When we made the switch to OLX this was my
workaround for not being able to upload csv files for an email
blast.  I have at the most 900 emails on one record, takes
forever to import but gets the job done.  As an example I have
a query for an email blast that has 3 cons records each of the cons
records having 700 to 900 emails addresses on the email tab, making
a total of say 2700 for the email blast.  Obviously you lose
the merge feature in OLX and tracking the performance of the email
    properly.

This is exactly what I was hoping to hear!  Thanks for the reply, Christine.

Thanks for sharing your info. We're about to have this issue, too.    :)
