Thank You Letters/Receipts and Acknowledgement Letters

Options
We have situations where someone will make a donation in honor of someone's birthday, for example.  A thank you letter/receipt is produced for the donor.  We then have to create an acknowledgement letter to the person celebrating a birthday that a donation was made in their honor.  Is there some way that both can be produced at the same time? Currently we do the two separately.

Thanks

Mark

  • I haven't tried it but I remember reading a post a long time ago by someone who had figured out a way to do this. It depends on how you record the info for the person being honored/memorialized.

If I remember correctly, they put the name/address for the honoree in as gift attribute fields. Their letter was two pages, the first to the donor and the second page a letter to the honoree. They set it to pull the fields from the gift attribute to address the second page to the honoree.

We don't store honoree info in that manner so I never tried it and we don't have a significant #.  If you have a number it might be worth checking out.
