Raiser's Edge NXT importing an excel file

I've reached the Import Now stage of the process and the import box is up but everything that is a current record is also an exception and none are actual imports.  Have I pushed a button somewhere or made a misstep?

The exceptions should say why they are exceptions. The exceptions need to be resolved before the import can happen. When importing I always "Validate data only" before the actual import. The exceptions show up there as well. If this is your first import, you may want to contact Blackbaud support and have them walk you through it.

and try it with a small file first if you can rather than your whole thing.
