Ages ago when we first started using RE, evidently they ran a program called Agefinder and entered birthdates to constituent records. Do any of you know if there is something similar out there? Thanks

I've recently actually looked into this. AgeFinder still exists and can be purchased by itself or as part of data enrichment packages.

We were really excited about the prospect of having more access to age data since it's so hard for us to come by in our fundraising efforts but after speaking to a Sales Rep and digging into AgeFinder it didn't feel like a good fit for us. It's really very hard data to access and get accurately. The return and accuracy rate just weren't worth it for us at this time with the size of our database, but I could totally see where it would be a great resource for larger databases or databases with existing age information they're looking to fill in.

  • Can I ask how large your database is? Ours is appx 30,000 records so AgeFinder may not be good fit for us either. Thanks for your time.

When I arrived it was over 20,000 but after some extensive cleanup we're around 12,000 right now. Between cost and match rate it just wasn't a fit for us right now. I'm not knocking the service, I'm sure it's a solid match rate for how hard that data can be to mine.

Here is a Knowledgebase article that may be helpful with a bit more information about each Finder service:
