query list not static?

Good morning,

One of my colleagues built a query list we use for a mailing list.  I notice that the number of the records in the list dropped by, oh, 30,000.  I though query lists were static, so I'm searching for answers to what happened to all the records?  If someone changed an underlying query, would it change the list?   Otherwise, could someone really have highlighted that many records for removal?    Create a whole new query list and give it the same name and write over the old records?  Any ideas??  Thank you.

You are correct, Query lists are static and will not change unless you manually edit the list to add or remove constituents.There is an option to remove a whole group, so that might have happened.
