tracking grant actions in RE 7/NXT without the prospect module

Options
Hello! I'm a grant writer, and I'm a newer user of Raiser's Edge and NXT. I recently took the "Fundamentals - Constituents" course, where I saw a reference to the "Prospects" tab. My organization doesn't have that module. But I would like to track actions related to a grant application process. Would any of you have suggestions of alternate ways to track those actions?

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere. I did search but I didn't see that specific question.

  • How about using the actions tab and creating grant-specific action types?  Grant - LOI, Grant - Proposal submitted, etc...?

Thanks. I think that would be a helpful start. Would you recommend using the actions tab for overall tracking of prospects?

While you can't link Actions to a specific Proposal without the Prospect module, you can still use Actions to track the application process.  I'd suggest using Attributes to identify the specific grant application.

Thanks for that recommendation. I am also trying to figure out how to differentiate between different applications, campaigns, etc.

You can link funds & campaigns to actions.

If you have NXT it should include all modules.

Thanks for the suggestion, Elaine. My understanding is that NXT doesn't automatically include all modules. I don't have a Prospects tab in NXT.
