IS anyone hosting their Raiser's Edge server?  Have you been able to get RE:Queue to send out emails automatically on completed tasks?

Mine does not work, and I feel like I read something quite recently here in the community about someone finding out that if BB hosts your RE database, you're out of luck on this one.  Something blocks it.

  • If you're hosted, sending emails from Queue does not work.  BB said it's a security vulnerability so they block it.

Back when we were self hosted I tried to send out gift reports by email but our Exchange Server wouldn't allow it.  Outlook would only send it from my machine if I were logged in and Outlook was open, that satisfies the security because I was logged in and so the system knew where the email was coming from.  You may have to have your IT set up a mail account in your system just for RE.
  • We've been told RE:Queue is not functioning as expected in our hosted solution. It is a known bug and engineering is working on a fix. Basically, we could get RE:Queue to run, send notification emails, deliver queued reports as emails with PDFs, etc. as long as we were logged in and running the Queue manually. The minute you schedule it, it might run the first time, but then fails (which defeats the functionality of RE:Queue, hence the bug).

I don't have a date for a fix to relay, but it is a known issue. Glad to talk offline if needed.
