We track sports and other co-curricular participations within an attribute in the constituent's education on Bio 1.

Thanks for the quick response, Stacey.  How do you search by year, though?  We have 14 sports x 81 years of history, so I can't have a 1957 boys golf, a 1958 boys golf, a 1959 boys golf... you get the idea.

I was waiting to see what other responses you received. Guessing you have Education Edge and thought there might be something there. If you have the Volunteer module you might repurpose it somehow. If you're running just off RE, I think I'd go the route of relationships so that you could record the dates and query from the data.


Create a record for each of your 14 sports and then just link the athletes in as individual relationships. Works well for date ranges. People can be linked to more than one sport record.


Just a thought.

 The education tab in RE works very well for this. There are education attibutes that are meant for things like this. People like to get creative and put this stuff in various parts of the record, but the education tab makes a lot of sense for these things. You are able to create your own attribute tables and I have one for athletics as well as things like fine arts.

I have always put any sports, clubs, extracurriculars, awards etc on the Primary Education tab in Education Attributes.  The Category is Athletics, the Description is the sports team, award, club etc. and the Comments is the school year that they participated 1957-1958.  Easy to pull lists of each team.  Directly related to the alum/student and their activity while they were or are on campus.
