Report: Donor Summary by Fund

Good morning RE Hive Mind,


I have been racking my brain the last few days trying to figure out how to create an export that gives me summary giving to individual fund. I have a way to do it if I write an export for each fund, but am hoping to find a way to have all funds in one export. Here is an over simplified version of what I would like to see:

Don't see what you'd like to see.  So, am guessing a bit. I export data for a person's giving to five different funds regularily.


In Export us the Summary Information > Gifts ? Total Gift Amount and set your filter for the first fund. In the output right pane window click on top line or "Summary Information" and then go back over to left pane and click 'total gift info' again to set criteria for second fund. Repeat as many times as needed.


Is that what you are looking for?

Have you looked at pivot reports? They're basically Excel pivot tables that use a query as their data source, you could include all gifts in one query and then have the pivot report split each fund out onto its own row.

Agree with Alan about pivot reports, although I'd just do a gift export then a pivot table in excel.

I've used Statistical Reports and under Fields my choice is Gift Fund.  You can choose all or several of the funds from your list. Your output will (can) include # of Gifts, Total Given, Average given per gift, % of total Given, # of Constituents.  If you need to break out by type of gift - cash, pledge, etc. I'd go with the pivot.

Again way oversimplified, but you should get the idea. I was trying to work through it with pivot reports and got stuck because the pivot report kept grouping those with the same first or last name. I have 30 or so funds to create outputs for and am hoping to get away from either creating 30 "Gift Summary" outputs or manually running each and compiling.

If you add constituent ID to the output, it should prevent identical names being grouped together.

I do a report every two weeks showing giving to over 300 funds.  I use a canned report under "Campaigns..." called Fund Performance Analysis.  I can set tje date parameters I need. It does not, however, show individual donors.
