Sponsorship goods and services for us is probably a bit different for us because we enter them first into a non-BB event module, but for our general, every day gift tracking, the admin brings the mail in and places it in a safe in the development office, our Development Associate sorts and batches the money then gives the checks, Batch Commit Control Report and Cash Receipt Journal entry to Finance, who deposits the checks and pulls the batch over into Financial Edge. We used to keep paper copies of reports that can't be replicated at any time (Batch Commit Control Report specificially), but now we keep everything electronically. Development and Finance reconcile each week to make sure everyone has the same amount of money in the same funds. Hope that's helpful!

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what you are asking about but will add my two cents. All gifts are entered as a batch by type; Cash, Credit Card, In-Kind, etc. We maintain a "Tracking Log" of gift batches. Date received, Tracking Code (Type Code, Date: CC042318) Batch #, Amt in Batch, Number of Gifts in Batch Acknowledgements Sent? and who entered the batch. Info is put on the log per each deposit and completed upon entry. Finance can access the tracking log to review and it helps with reconcilliation.
