Emails Marked as Phishing - BB new email provider?

Options
We've been sending emails through BB OLX since October to both our internal audience (fac/staff) and external audiences (alumni and donors) without issues, until today.

I scheduled two emails to send to our internal audiences this morning regarding our employee giving campaign (segmented by donors and non donors) and both were marked as phishing scams via Microsoft Outlook. Not sure if this is happening with other email providers, but we use Microsoft Outlook on campus. It has me concerned that this could be happening with our external audiences as well and we just don't know it.

Our ITS dept asked if BB changed email providers. Does anyone know? Anyone else having issues?

  • Hi Amy,

We have been seeing the same thing on our end too using the Microsoft Outlook software.  I chatted with support yesterday, and they sent me the following link:

They said that we needed to create an SPF record. I sent it to my IT dept. yesterday and don't know if they've yet to implement it.  I hope this is helpful for you as well.

If you hear of any other solutions, please respond to this thread so that I can be made aware as well.

  • Hi Amy,

We've been having the same problem too and it's been an issue for months. We've tried the SPF record solution is it's not a 100% fix. Further, the problem seems to be somewhat sporadic. Sometimes all of our internal audiences get it (except me) and other times it comes every third or fourth email attempt. Your issue exactly desscribes ours.

We've also tried adjusting our Microsoft Outlook security settings and that hasn't resolved the issue either.
