HELP with LYBUNTS - Choosing what Info. I want to see in the Output

Options
Hi there, I frequently use the LYBUNTS report on my various constituencies.  I've noticed that I can only choose one phone number to pull out from my query.  Is there a way to run a report on LYBUNTS that will provide me with name, address, email AND all phone numbers on a person's record?  Also, do the phone numbers have to be marked primary in order for them to show up on the report? I have one consituent who has a home phone number but it's not showing up on my LYBUNTS.

The canned LYBUNT report only allows 1 phone number to be included in the report, configurable from the "Ind. Address" and "Org. Address" tabs.  You could, from the General tab, create a Constituent output Query and use that Query result as the source for a custom Export that would include additional information, but you'll probably lose some of the other data that's available in the canned report.

  • Or you could use that same Constituent output query from LYBUNT and patch it into an Individual Profile report if you wanted to have more detailed information in a handy, print-friendly format.

ugh - that's what I was afraid to hear. I wish these canned reports were more flexible. It's crazy to think we'd only want to include one phone number for LYBUNTS, considering I'm going to use this information for calls.  Thank you for your answer.

Hmmmm - would you mind telling me how I'd do that, exactly?  That might work.

  • Sure.

1.) Set up your LYBUNT report however you normally do, except check the box in the lower left hand corner next to "Create Constituent output query."

2.) When you run the report, it'll ask you to name your query and pick a folder to save it in

3.) Once the report is done running, you can close it and go to Reports > Profiles, Lists, and Directories > Individual Profile

4.) Click the Include button and attach the query you saved in step 2.

5.) At this point, you'll need to take some time to look over all of the options within the Individual Profile report. You can customize this thing in all sorts of ways, and I won't venture to guess what may or may not be useful to you. So take some time and learn your options, read some KB articles, that sort of thing.

A lot of reports don't allow you to pick and choose what info you want to see, and that's because they're reports that are meant to perform a task more easily. I could write a query that does what the LYBUNT report does, but the LYBUNT report is much easier. To make the most use of these kinds of reports, always output a constituent or gift query from the report and then plug that into whatever other tool you might want to use.

This is very helpful, I'm going to give it a whirl right now - thank you very much!!!!

  • Glad to help :)
