Crystal Reports Training

Hello Everyone!

I have taken the two crystal reports trainings that Blackbaud offers and that was helpful but not very indepth for what I want to do. I was wondering if anyone had any other training oportunities they would recommend? There are so many online I'm not sure which one is best. Thanks!

I can recommend the book I used to teach myself (Crystal Reports XI: The Complete Reference), particularly as it happens to relate to the same version of Crystal used by RE.

I actually have this book! I find it a little lacking in the section about formulas but maybe I should give it a second chance. It's good to know that someone else has had success with it. Thanks!

I went to ONLC many years ago. It was fine!

  • Hi Chelsea, in addition to what everyone else said I hear there's some helpful information here:  http://bekerman.com  :)

For formulas Ken Hamady has a page of examples here: http://www.kenhamady.com/formulas/default.html  It's been a while since my last blog post, maybe my next article should be on the most common formulas I use in Crystal Reports fundraising reports.

One of the few advantages of RE still using older versions of Crystal Reports is not having to spend $60 on books.  Check used book websites like thriftbooks.com for books on version XI.

I have been looking for some decent Crystal training as well. I have taken an online class and it was fine but she didn't know anything about RE so she was stumped with some of my questions. I'd love to find someone with RE and Crystal knowledge. I have so many reports that were built before I started my job and I can meander around to update, but I would really be more useful if I learned how she did these, especially with subreports. I can create simple reports, but I need to get into the more complex ones.
