Linking actions to gift acknowledged

I have phoned support and currently this functionality doesn't exist, so I have been told to put it up here for future updates and consideration...

 

I think it would be useful to have better links between the gifts acknowledged tab and the Actions area of the system, so that when a proposal/gift is acknowledged  an action is created as well. This shows that a thank you letter has gone out, whereas at the moment, the same information needs to be input into the gift page and as an action, replicating this work in two areas.


Currently, the system is prompting me to thank a donor, as an action, when it has already been done (as 'acknowledged' on the gift area). If there is a way to connect the two areas, so that when a gift is acknowledged, an action is created, it would save a lot of time!

    I don't know why they told you to put it here.  If you want this as a future function within the software it should go under the "Ideas" tab above (between "Resources" and "Release Information.").

    With this caveat: if your document has graphics in it, you may get an error message and the document won't save.  We create our letterhead on the fly when we print/mail-merge letters out of RE, with graphics in the header and footer.  This used to work like a charm!  But for more than a year, we get errors when trying to do this.  The workarounds are all unacceptable -- reduce the graphics quality or remove the graphics.  We have opted instead to scan the completed, signed document, but then someone has to attach it to the record on the media tab.  It's an unfortunate PITA -- it used to be so easy!!

    Interesting, Katie... I've never had that happen and I have included many graphics on occasion.  Hmmmm... (insert thinking face emoji here)
