Conditional content for event registration pages in NetCommunity

Options
Hi

In looking at a registration page for alumni/reunion weekend from another BBNC user at another Higher Ed University, they were able to design a registration page where in the user could choose a dropdown for a-la-carte or a package/pass for the weekend. This then leads into the conditional questiions/fields for the user to continue. I see that as part of the BBNC Grow platform no ability in any of the event registration parts to create this. Is this custom or is it somewhere I just can't see? If it is custom I will reach out to our success manager/or sales rep to follow through, but I just want to be sure.

thanks, Jayne

  • Jayne, were you able to find a solution, be it BB or 3rd party? We are new to ON and I'm quite frustrated by the fact that we can't create complex forms with conditional fields. We used conditional fields heavily in our Finalsite site. It's ridiculous enough that BB's custom forms in ON look so blah, but I'd take the "blah" (for now) if we could utilize some if/then actions in form creation.
  • Hi Binnie

I haven't heard anything yet. I am sure it is BB custom with a contractual design/training hours package with their designers at a substantial cost.

  • I'm not sure if I quite understand what you're asking but I just used the conditional content blocks for our Homecoming and Family Weekend confirmation page. It worked great and flawlessly so I'd be happy to share what I did. Here's a brief synopsis. Block 1 (All Access Pass) Block 2 (Reunions) Block 3 (Awards Dinner). For Block 1 & 3 I uploaded an email list of those who were participating. For Block 2, I uploaded a list for each reunion (we had 16).
  • Hi Jennifer,

There wouldn't be a way to do this directly on the event registration form without a heavy JavaScript customization.  What information are you trying to obtain with the conditional content?  Are you trying to have users answer a few questions and then are directed to a specific registration option?  If yes, you could create a Google form with your conditional questions and then based on their answers they are directed to a form that has the correct registration option.  This might take a few different BBNC pages and event registration forms but it would save you from needing a developer.

    I hope that helps!
