PSO money recorded in RE? Need Best Practice advice

We are a network of charter schools that each school has it's own EIN. Each school has a PSO (Parent Student Organization) that operates under the school EIN but maintains a separate bank account. Should donations to PSO be recorded in RE and acknowledged by the school or PSO?
