Creating a merge document for tribute letters

Options
I am trying to set up a tribute letter; however no matter what output options I choose, I cannot get certain items to populate when I merge.  As an example, my sentence should be: "This letter is to notify you that a donation has been received in memory of John Smith."  I cannot get "in memory of" or "John Smith" to appear.  Does anyone know how to do this?  There seem to be other items that aren't showing as well, but I got so frustrated I had to stop!  I am very new to these letters, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cindy! There are a number of different possible culprits to consider. Are you still working on this or have you gotten it figured out?
  • Are you in the Mail function of RE? Two parts to check: In the Letter screen, tab 2. Fields to Include, make sure the fields you want to draw from (Tribute Type and Tribute Description) are in the Fields to Export column. Then, in the Word doc, click on the last tab -- Add-ins -- to pull the merge field into the letter. Chat folks should be able to help pretty quickly.
  • Thank you both for your responses!  I believe I figured it out, just have to re-create it on another mailing to be sure  :)
