e-Sustainer series - functionality question

I am launching a two-message e-Sustainer invite for a client.

Question: We want msg 1 and follow up msg to be a sustainer only ask. Is there a way to, upon a user closing out of Msg 2, have a pop up that gives a one-time contribution ask/option?

Is this possibile from a functionality perspective? Has anyone tried this technique/how has it impacted conversion rate?

You would need a browser launched for pop ups in addition to any email client the user may be reading the email with.

There isn't a way we could get that to happen consistently, and to be honest I don't think it can even happen at all without someone going to a website. (I realize they are technically on-line when they are reading email, but it's not really the same).
