Business Process for editing designee on sustaining gifts?

Good morning,


Our number of sustaining gifts is on the rise, which is good news. However, we have a business process and donor support challenge when a sustaining donor wants change their gift designation.


Currently, there is no way for donors - through the gift service center - or for LO admins - on the back end - to simply change a gift designation for a sustaining gift. (But if enough of you upvote my idea to allow admins to edit the gift designation on a sustaining gift maybe there will be).


That said, does anyone have an effective business process to manage situations where a sustaining donor wants to change their gift designation? Have you found a field you can use that will flag that the donor wants a change? Cancelling the gift and creating a new one is not good customer service. One final note: we don't use Raiser's Edge for a database.
